I haven't finished the book, but I have it.
So far, so good. I wonder what would've happened if they had Alex in it. I'm thinking......... Liz pinned them down to get to Mike, but he falls for Alex instead.

She was the 5th person in the hole. The screen writer/s cut her out.
In other words, the Original Victims are Liz, Mike, Frankie, Groff, and Alex.
